E-bike rider meets tragic end in motorcycle accident - Deadly Motorcycle Collision: Pedestrian Fatality
In the Hannover region, a tragic incident occurred on Kreisstraße 204, between Adensen and Schulenburg, where an elderly e-bike rider and a 34-year-old motorcyclist were involved in a collision at an intersection.
Initial police findings suggest the circumstances of the collision are unclear, but it resulted in both individuals being thrown from their vehicles. The 78-year-old e-bike rider was seriously injured and was transported to the hospital via rescue helicopter. Despite resuscitation efforts, the e-bike rider unfortunately passed away in the hospital.
The motorcyclist was also seriously injured and was taken to the hospital. A dpa photographer reported the presence of a crisis intervention counselor at the scene, providing support to first responders.
Several drivers passed by the accident site without stopping to help, according to an unnamed eyewitness. However, it's important to note that the police spokesperson did not provide the identity of this eyewitness in the available sources on the accident on the A61 near Mutterstadt.
The road was temporarily closed following the accident. The e-bike was torn apart, with parts ending up in the ditch.
