Deadly Road Mishap on Martin-Luther-Straße/Kreisstraße in Hattingen - Involving a Tramway

In the small town of Hattingen, a tragic incident occurred on August 30, 2025, at the intersection of Martin-Luther-Straße/Kreisstraße. A 77-year-old resident was struck by a tram while crossing the road.

The tram, bound for Bochum Grumme, was operated by a driver who spotted the elderly resident at the crossing aid before the collision. The driver immediately applied full braking in an attempt to avoid the accident. However, despite emergency efforts, the 77-year-old resident sadly passed away at the scene.
