Decade of Highlights in the County: Unveiling the Notable Moments!

The 2025 edition of the Creme of the County showcase, an annual event organised by scout Aaron Burgin, took place recently. The event aimed to promote San Diego County's top high school basketball players and did not disappoint.

The main event, the Creme De La Creme game, showcased some of the finest talent in San Diego County. The game was reserved for the county's most promising players, including Jeremiah Profit, a 6-foot-5 2027 from Rancho Christian (Temecula, Calif.), who finished with 12 points for the black club.

The 2029 Creme Game was impressively unselfish and demonstrated supreme effort. The MVPs of the game were 5-foot-10 2029 guard Kamran Shirazi of Francis Parker (San Diego) and 6-foot-3 Romeo Flores of Mission Bay (San Diego). Lincoln Grogan, a 6-foot-3 2026 guard from St. Augustine (San Diego), was a top performer in this year's Creme De La Creme game, earning co-MVP honours for the winning team.

Ezekiel Walker of Francis Parker (San Diego) earned MVP honours for the losing team in the Creme De La Creme game. Another standout player was JuJu Lebel, a 6-foot-5 2026 forward from Foothills Christian (El Cajon, Calif.), who scored 14 points for the losing team.

Keeping an eye out for the future, 5-foot-11 2030 guard Kyle "Popeye" O'Connor from Greenfield Middle School and 6-foot-2 2030 guard Dillon Rice of Praxis Elite Sports Academy, who plays club ball with Relentless, are players to watch. Also, 6-foot-2 2029 Egypt Dean of La Jolla Country Day impressed with nice finishes, passing, and scoring.

The three 2027 call-ups, Kai Jones, Chase Othick, and Chayse Miles, all played well in their respective games. Additionally, 6-foot-3 2029 C.J. Johnson of San Marcos (Calif.) and two 2028 players, 6-foot-4 Tyler Johnson of Rancho Bernardo (San Diego) and 6-foot-4 Brooklyn James of Monte Vista (Spring Valley, Calif.), were moved up to the Creme De La Creme game.

The FAB 50 is open for teams to be known, inviting your team to be a part! Last year, the white jersey-wearing club won the Creme De La Creme game against the black jersey-wearing club, 111-107.

Ronnie Flores, the national Grassroots editor of the website, was also present at the event. He can be reached at ronnie@our website. Follow him on Twitter at @RonMFlores for updates on the basketball scene.

J.J. Sanchez and Xair Mendez led Montgomery (San Diego) to its first ever San Diego Section open division state title during their senior campaigns. The Creme of the County showcase continues to be a platform for discovering and promoting the best high school basketball talent in San Diego County.
