Destruction from Graffiti: Elevator at the Construction Site

In a recent incident, vandalism has caused substantial damage to the elevator and automatic doors in Wiesbaden's Kransand leisure area. The Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden issued a press release from Schlossplatz 6, 65183 Wiesbaden, detailing the unfortunate event.

The repair costs for the vandalism are estimated to be approximately 6,000 euros. The damage to the automatic doors is expected to take around twelve weeks to repair. It's important to note that these repair costs are not related to the elevator.

The elevator, commissioned in August 2024, offers a significant advantage for mobility-impaired individuals, providing a direct, barrier-free connection between the Kransand area and the transport hub at the bridgehead. It also facilitates the comfortable overcoming of a height difference, making it particularly advantageous for passengers boarding and disembarking at the bus stop "Mainz-Kastel Bridgehead".

Unfortunately, the vandalism in June did not spare the elevator. However, it's worth mentioning that the elevator was not involved in the damage to the automatic doors mentioned earlier.

Citizens with questions regarding the elevator can contact the responsible department or office for more information. The operation of the elevator is not technically possible during the repair period.

The Press Release can be found on the official website of Wiesbaden at www.wiesbaden.de/de/stadt/pressemitteilungen. We hope for the prompt repair and restoration of this essential amenity for the convenience of all citizens.
