Stardew Valley developer Eric Barone reassures fans that the release of version 1.7 won't slow down the progress of his upcoming life simulation game, Haunted Chocolatier, which was initially introduced nearly four years ago.

Development of Eric Barone's next life simulation game, previously known as Haunted Chocolatier, is not anticipated to be delayed by the release of Stardew Valley 1.7.

In a recent update, Eric Barone, the creator of the beloved farming simulation game Stardew Valley, has confirmed the upcoming 1.7 update. However, fans of the game need not worry about the development of Barone's other project, Haunted Chocolatier, being affected.

Barone has been working on Stardew Valley patches on-and-off the entire time, alongside the development of Haunted Chocolatier. The latter, a game about running a chocolate shop for ghosts, is also being developed by Barone, who goes by the alias ConcernedApe. Since the 1.3 update of Stardew Valley, Barone has a team assisting him, allowing him to focus most of his attention on Haunted Chocolatier while taking on a more creative director role for Stardew Valley.

The exact nature of any potential future updates to Stardew Valley beyond the 1.7 update is unknown. Barone has expressed a desire to continue updating Stardew Valley even 50 years from now, but has not definitively closed the book on future updates.

Meanwhile, Haunted Chocolatier is in active development. Barone has promised that the 1.7 update of Stardew Valley will not hinder the development of Haunted Chocolatier. This assurance comes in response to concerns raised by fans about the impact of the Stardew Valley update on the progress of Haunted Chocolatier.

In other news, Stardew Valley is joining the September PlayStation Plus games lineup. It will be offered alongside an impeccable indie puzzler and one of the best platformers of the modern era. This is a great opportunity for new players to join the Stardew Valley community and experience the charm of Pelican Town.

Despite the development time for Stardew Valley exceeding 12 years for Barone, he has committed to not working on Stardew Valley until he's done with Haunted Chocolatier. Barone has also made it clear that he wants to create more than one game in his lifetime, suggesting that after Haunted Chocolatier, we may see more exciting projects from this talented developer.
