The tech-savvy world of audio-visual control systems has received a significant upgrade, as Key Digital unveils an update to its popular KD-WP8 keypad. This latest version, the KD-WP8-3, now boasts Telnet support, opening up a world of possibilities for seamless integration with a wide range of devices.

The KD-WP8-3 is designed to fit snugly into a single-gang wall box and is powered by PoE, making it a convenient and efficient addition to any setup. It features a simple web GUI for programming, allowing users to customise the keypad according to their needs.

One of the standout features of the KD-WP8-3 is its expanded control capabilities. It can now manage not only Key Digital devices but also third-party systems and devices, thanks to the Compass Control Pro protocol, user-friendly Open API support, integrated IR output, and RS-232 port.

The KD-WP8-3 also offers a two-button press combo that can be set to lock and unlock the keypad, providing an extra layer of security. Buttons on the keypad can now stack up to 10 commands on press, release, and repeat, enhancing its functionality significantly.

In addition, the KD-WP8-3 can now natively employ Telnet, TCP, and UDP as protocols, making it compatible with other devices that support similar protocols or can be integrated via standard interfaces like RS-232 or Telnet. This compatibility extends to popular brands like Extron, Biamp, QSC, and Symetrix, which are known for using Telnet or similar protocols for controlling DSP processors and other products.

Key Digital has also introduced pre-programmed files for easier control of projectors compatible with the PJLink standard. These files cover eight-button configurations, audio volume and muting commands, and input selection control commands, making setup a breeze.

Moreover, the KD-WP8-3 can now load preset starting values for devices like amplifiers, and it can even make a connection with a device and send a username and password for access. This feature adds an extra level of convenience, particularly for large-scale installations.

To further expand its compatibility, Key Digital has joined the Q-SYS Technology Partner Program. As a result, the KD-WP8-3 is now compatible with Q-SYS via the jointly developed Q-SYS KD-WP8-3 Plugin.

Lastly, the KD-WP8-3's programming capabilities have been enhanced with variable support. This feature allows the keypad to send preset values for control instead of increment/decrement commands, offering more precise control over connected devices.

In conclusion, the updated KD-WP8-3 from Key Digital is a versatile and powerful keypad that offers a wide range of control options for audio-visual setups.
