In the world of cinema, renowned 85-year-old director Marco Bellocchio is gearing up for a new project titled "Falcon". This upcoming film will delve into the life of Sergio Marchionne, the Italian-Canadian manager who is revered for rescuing Fiat from an international crisis.

The film will portray Marchionne as a man who, despite his great managerial achievements, did not align with the national political establishment. Bellocchio characterizes Marchionne as a "tragic winner", a term that hints at the challenges and hostility he faced from certain left, center, and right institutions upon his return home.

The story of Falcon centers around Marchionne's leadership that led to Fiat's merger with Chrysler in 2009. It depicts him as a man who faced hostility from various institutions but ultimately won against two American giants, GM and Chrysler.

The screenplay for Falcon is a collaboration between several writers, including Marco Bellocchio, Ludovica Rampoldi, Andrea Di Stefano, Stefano Rulli, and Oliviero Del Papa. Bellocchio also emphasizes that there is still a lot to do in the production of Falcon.

The production of Falcon is backed by Simone Gattoni for Kavac Film, Mattia Mor for Emotion Network, and Rai Cinema. Fabrizio Donvito is the producer involved in this project, and the filming locations for Falcon will be in Italy, the United States, and Canada.

Principal photography for Falcon is scheduled to begin next year. Bellocchio assures that Marchionne is not subdued or crushed in the film, but rather portrayed as a man who stood firm against adversity.

Interestingly, Bellocchio is also working on a separate HBO Max series titled Portobello, a work about the tragic trajectory of Enzo Tortora. The series was presented at the Venice Film Festival.

In conclusion, Falcon promises to be an insightful and engaging film that sheds light on the life and leadership of Sergio Marchionne. It's a must-watch for anyone interested in business, leadership, and Italian cinema.
