Discussion persists between the Pforzheimer City Council and CfR concerning the German Football League Cup

The city of Pforzheim is gearing up for the DFB Cup match between 1. CfR Pforzheim and Bayer Leverkusen, scheduled to take place at Holzhof Stadium in August 2018. The city administration recently held a working meeting with the CfR board to discuss the necessary preparations, with a particular focus on drinking water protection.

Mayor Peter Boch presented the results of the meeting, highlighting the necessity to avoid parking traffic and prevent "wild urination" to ensure the protection of drinking water. He expressed optimism that they will achieve their common goal of hosting the sporting event at the Holzhof Stadium in a legally secure manner.

To address the issue of parking, the city is considering using buses to transport spectators to the stadium from a designated parking area outside the immediate vicinity of drinking water wells along Kanzlerstraße. This measure aims to avoid parking traffic near these wells.

In addition, the city is considering the use of rental toilets to provide sufficient toilet facilities for the large number of spectators expected. Discussions will include whether any structural changes or additions are necessary and how escape routes should be designed.

An on-site inspection with multiple authorities and the club is planned to clarify construction, traffic, and safety-related questions for the DFB Cup match. Both the city of Pforzheim and CfR agree that the conditions formulated are feasible and solvable.

Mayor Peter Boch thanked CfR for the good and constructive cooperation and stated that they have made progress, but there is still work to be done. He emphasised that another on-site meeting with CfR, DFB, and all involved authorities is planned for next week to continue the discussions.

It is important to note that this post is an archived post, and any phone and contact information, as well as date information, may no longer be current. However, the city's commitment to ensuring a legally secure hosting of the DFB Cup match remains unchanged.

Mayor Peter Boch expressed his confidence that with continued collaboration, the remaining questions can be clarified, and the DFB Cup match at Holzhof Stadium will be a success.
