On the night of September 7, 2025, unknown individuals attacked the consulate using color fire extinguishers, spraying black paint over a 30-meter length of the building and writing the phrase "Tantang Tirani" on the wall. The entrance area and the outer walls of the consulate were also sprayed during the incident.
According to the claim, "Tantang Tirani" means "Fight Tyranny" in German. The Bremen police are investigating the vandalism, which is being considered a crime, and the state protection department is involved in the investigation.
The estimated damage caused by the vandalism is approximately 5,000 euros. A claim of responsibility for the vandalism has been published on the internet, which the Bremen police are now investigating.
The Indonesian government has not yet issued a statement regarding the incident. While tax measures and inflation are burdening many citizens in Indonesia, it remains unclear whether the protests and the vandalism in Bremen are connected.
