Manchester United's winger Antony was not a part of the squad that contested the UEFA Europa Conference League final earlier this year. Instead, he found himself in Seville, playing for Real Betis.

Antony joined Real Betis on a permanent transfer from Manchester United, following a loan spell there, with Betis paying around €22 million plus potential bonuses for the transfer. This move came after Antony's reported £82 million move to Manchester United in 2022.

During his time at Real Betis, Antony has been a key player, scoring four goals as the team reached the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League. Unfortunately, Real Betis lost the final to Chelsea.

Despite the disappointing result, Antony has expressed his happiness at Real Betis. He claims that his performance at the club has helped him regain his form both on and off the pitch. Antony has scored five goals in 17 appearances for Real Betis in the La Liga.

Antony's decision to join Real Betis was not a spur-of-the-moment choice. He has stated that there was another serious offer from the Bundesliga champions before joining Real Betis. He also spoke with Bayern Munich. However, Antony has respect for his word and will remain with Real Betis.

Antony's international career has also been on the rise. Since 2021, he has collected 16 senior international caps for Brazil. However, he was an unused substitute for Brazil's World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay, and he hasn't represented the Selecao since March 2023. New manager Carlo Ancelotti drafted Antony back into the Brazilian squad in June, but he is not involved in the current international squad.

Looking ahead, Antony could return to action when Real Betis visits Levante on September 14. Manager Manuel Pellegrini will lead the team in this match. With more than five teams reportedly interested in Antony, his future at Real Betis remains to be seen.

In a surprising turn of events, Antony has also shared that Seville is more beautiful than Manchester, according to him. Despite this, it seems that Antony has found a home in Seville with Real Betis, and the club and its fans are happy to have him.
