Disney+ is thrilling fans in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria with an exciting expansion of their local content offering. The streaming service is set to add a diverse array of crime series from ZDF, a renowned German television broadcaster, starting from August 27, 2025.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Disney+, building upon their existing partnership with leading European broadcasters. The addition of numerous successful shows such as "SOKO", "Munich Mord", "Nord Nord Mord", "Marie Brand", "Wilsberg", "Der Alte", "Der Kriminalist", "Ein starkes Team", and "Die purpurnen Flüsse" will enrich the local content available on Disney+ in these regions.

The new ZDF content can be found on Disney+ as part of a curated collection called "ZDF Films and Series". Starting from Wednesday, customers in these countries will have access to the first of the new ZDF content. By the end of 2025, the "ZDF Films and Series" collection on Disney+ will grow to over 3,000 episodes and films, including these newly added crime series.

Karl Holmes, General Manager of Disney+ in the EMEA region, expressed his excitement about this agreement. "We have been fans of ZDF's unique films and series for years, and we are thrilled to be able to offer our customers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland even more local content to enjoy," he said.

"Der Bergdoktor" and "Die Bergretter", previously individual ZDF content on Disney+, will also be part of the expanded offerings. The number of shows available in the "ZDF Films and Series" collection on Disney+ in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland will increase significantly.

The "ZDF Films and Series" collection on Disney+ will now offer a wider variety of crime series. "Marie Brand", a popular detective series, is scheduled for broadcast on November 19, 2025, but specific availability dates in other European countries beyond Disney+ licensing have not been detailed.

This agreement is significant as it expands the local content available on Disney+ in these regions. The offering of compelling stories on Disney+ is becoming even more diverse due to this agreement, providing customers with a more diverse selection of shows.

Disney+ customers can look forward to a richer and more varied viewing experience with the addition of these popular crime series. The expansion of the "ZDF Films and Series" collection on Disney+ is a testament to Disney+'s commitment to delivering high-quality content to its subscribers.
