The ESPN Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) product, set to launch in the fall of 2025, will provide coverage of live sports, studio shows, and commentary. It will also offer more than just basic ESPN services, including various features yet to be detailed.

Bob Iger, Disney's CEO, has emphasised the value of live sports, contributing to an industry-leading portfolio of sports programming for Disney. He also expressed expectations for betting to be integrated into ESPN's DTC service.

The ongoing financial improvements in Disney's streaming businesses were apparent in its Q4 results for fiscal-year 2024. The conglomerate has invested heavily to make its streaming business a significant growth driver for the company.
