Disney Held Secret Audition for Gigi Hadid in an Unknown Role
Gigi Hadid, the renowned supermodel, took a surprising turn in 2025 when she decided to pursue singing lessons to prepare for the role of Rapunzel in Disney's planned live-action remake of Tangled. Hadid was proud of her audition for the role, expressing her excitement to the media.
Hadid's relationship with actor Bradley Cooper was a topic of interest during this time. Despite Cooper's expressed concerns about lawyers, paperwork, and prenups, Hadid was patient about the marriage. She had ordered everyone in her life to not pressure Cooper about the matter.
As of September 2025, the actress who would play Rapunzel in the Tangled remake had not been announced. Although Hadid auditioned for the role, she did not get it. The project was put on hold due to the underperformance of the live-action Snow White remake and the success of Lilo & Stitch, which became the only billion-dollar release of the year.
The audition for Hadid's role in Tangled took place before the project was put on hold. Michael Gracey was in talks to direct the remake, with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson writing the script. Cooper, however, appeared hesitant about getting married for a second time, sending mixed messages about the marriage. Some times he discussed it as certain, while other times he expressed concerns.
Despite the setbacks, Hadid remained hopeful about her career and personal life. She shared that she will show her audition scene for the role of Rapunzel in Disney's Tangled remake later. It remains to be seen if she will get another opportunity to play the iconic character. For now, Hadid is waiting to get married to Cooper, but she is not going to wait forever.
