Disorderly adolescents dismantle Mofa vehicles and physically assault law enforcement personnel
In the heart of Essen, Germany, an incident unfolded on Saturday morning at around 6:50 AM, as two juveniles, aged 14 and 16, were accused of attempting to steal a moped on Kevelohbusch Street.
The drama began when a witness spotted two individuals stealing a moped, stuffing items into a bag, and fleeing on foot. The suspects were later identified by the police at the Hinseler Hof bus stop.
Upon their apprehension, the juveniles displayed aggressive behaviour towards the law enforcement officers. During the ride to the police station, they insulted, spit at, and physically threatened the officers. The 14-year-old suspect, who is of Lebanese nationality, even kicked at the officers. The 16-year-old, whose nationality remains unknown, attempted to physically attack the officers despite being handcuffed.
The police found matching tools on the two juveniles, as well as suspected stolen goods, including motor oil, a vehicle battery, a license plate, and a moped insurance certificate. The suspects' actions resulted in two officers being lightly injured.
Investigations against the juveniles include suspicion of aggravated theft and assault on law enforcement officers. The police are currently investigating the case further, pursuing inquiries regarding the stolen moped and other possible crimes.
