District council to be spearheaded by Councilman Achim Brötel starting September
In a significant development, the committee has unanimously recommended Achim Broetel for the position of President of the District Council of Baden-Württemberg.
Broetel, currently the CDU landrat of the Neckar-Odenwald district, is set to succeed Joachim Walter, who announced his resignation from the post of President of the District Council and as Landrat of Tübingen in December 2024.
Achim Broetel began his professional career as a judge before serving as the Mayor of Buchen (Neckar-Odenwald district) before his election as Landrat in 2005. He has proven his leadership skills and commitment to the district, making him an ideal choice for the role.
The district assembly will decide on Broetel's appointment on 22 September in Balingen.
