District of Main-Tauber: Increased Incidents of Vehicle Accidents and Home Burglaries

There were two significant incidents reported in different regions of the country on Monday.
In the first incident, a traffic accident occurred on the A81 near Tauberbischofsheim at around 3:50 PM. The collision happened on Vockenroter Steige, near a building yard, and involved a Peugeot and a Mercedes-Benz.
The driver of the Peugeot, a 62-year-old woman, was slightly injured and taken to the hospital. The passenger of the Mercedes-Benz was also slightly injured but did not go to the hospital. Both drivers' cars were not driveable and had to be towed away, with an estimated damage of approximately €16,000. The total damage from the collision is estimated at around €15,000.
The police believe that the woman was presumably distracted by a road sign indicating a lane closure.
In a separate incident, unknown persons unlawfully entered a single-family house in Hundheim between 4:15 PM and 7:20 PM. Inside the house, a small amount of cash was stolen. The police are now looking for witnesses to the incident in Hundheim. Additionally, on Monday, there was an attempted burglary at a residence in Wertheim. The offenders searched the rooms of a residence on Waldeck, but nothing was stolen or damaged. A 55-year-old woman driving a Ford and a 62-year-old woman driving a VW Polo were slightly injured in a rear-end collision that occurred in Wertheim later in the day.
