Gretlmill Recreational Area: Rules and Facilities for a Safe and Enjoyable Visit

The Gretlmill recreational area, a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, has a set of rules and facilities in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit for all.

Firstly, for the safety and well-being of all visitors, bringing dogs and other animals is prohibited. This rule aims to prevent contamination, danger, or disturbance to other guests.

Upon arrival, bicycle racks are conveniently located in the entrance area for those arriving by bicycle. Cargo bicycles or bicycles with trailers have designated parking spaces as well.

To maintain a peaceful atmosphere, music and any other disturbing noise are prohibited at the grill area. Additionally, smoking, including e-cigarettes, shisha pipes, and similar items, as well as cannabis, is banned throughout the area. Designated non-smoking zones are available on the beach and signposted areas of the lawn, with ashtrays provided for proper waste disposal.

The grill area is available until 8 pm, with a maximum size limit of 50 cm x 50 cm or a diameter of 60 cm for grills. Forest fire risk bans must be strictly observed at the grill area to prevent any potential hazards.

For the safety of all swimmers, boating, stand-up paddleboarding, surfing, jumping into the lake, and diving are not permitted at the Gretlmill recreational area. Glass bottles are also prohibited on the bathing grounds to minimize the risk of injury.

To ensure a pleasant swimming experience, a cordoned-off bay with ropes is designated for non-swimmers. The rest of the water surface at the Gretlmill recreational area is reserved for those with adequate swimming skills. Nudism is not permitted on the entire grounds.

Bicycles are not permitted on the bathing area, but parking vehicles on the street is prohibited to avoid hindering emergency vehicles. A temporary parking lot is available during high visitor traffic, shortly after exiting the LA 14.

Toilets are available daily during swimming weather at the Gretlmill recreational area. From mid-May, new lockers will be available for use, requiring one or two Euro coins as a deposit.

The kiosk at the Gretlmill is expected to start operating from May 14th, weather permitting, from Wednesday to Sunday, from 9 am to 8 pm. The operators of the kiosk can be reached by email at [email protected].

Security service surveillance, especially on weekends, will continue at the Gretlmill recreational area to ensure all guests an enjoyable stay. It's important to note that the northern and northeastern part of the lake at the Gretlmill recreational area is designated as an ecological zone and may not be entered, even from the water.

Lastly, it's crucial to remember that the Gretlmill recreational area will be open daily from 9 am to 9 pm until September for all bathers. By following these rules and respecting the environment, everyone can enjoy a memorable and safe experience at the Gretlmill recreational area.
