Dr. Marco Trienes assumes position as Director of Münster
Dr. Marco Trienes has been elected as the new Managing Director of Economic Development Münster GmbH (WFM), effective from September 3 for a term of five years. He will succeed Enno Fuchs, who did not extend his contract due to family reasons.
Trienes, who currently serves as the Managing Director of the Economic Development Agency Paderborn and the TechnologieParkPaderborn GmbH, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He studied economic geography with a focus on regional economic analysis and economic development at RWTH Aachen, and completed his doctorate.
Before his tenure at Paderborn, Trienes worked at the Economic Development Wuppertal as an acting board member. In 2023, he took up his position as Managing Director of the Economic Development Agency Paderborn and the TechnologieParkPaderborn GmbH. His predecessor company was Münsterland e.V.
As Managing Director of the WFM, Trienes will be responsible for the founding, development, and location consulting of companies. He will also be responsible for the marketing, maintenance, and expansion of the economic location of Münster - nationally and internationally. In addition to his role at WFM, he will manage the associated companies Technologieförderung Münster GmbH, Nano-Bioanalytik-Zentrum GmbH, and CeNTech GmbH.
