Dresden's startup scene expands with the launch of ExciteLab
The ExciteLab Accelerator Program: Driving Competitiveness and Innovation in Dresden
The ExciteLab, a new accelerator program based in Dresden, is set to begin in October 2024. This program, which is part of TUD|excite - the center of excellence for innovation, transfer, and entrepreneurship at TU Dresden, is designed to support high-tech start-ups and bring science and industry together more effectively.
The ExciteLab's goal is to drive the overall competitiveness of the region by offering a six-month accelerator program that focuses on key technologies such as IoT, semiconductors, robotics, sensors, and quantum computing. The program seeks to attract international talents and investors, aiming to increase Dresden's attractiveness on a global scale.
The ExciteLab is supported by leading companies such as Infineon, Mazars, and ZEISS, and is managed by the Center for Innovation, Transfer and Entrepreneurship (TUD|excite) at TU Dresden. The program offers a range of benefits to its participants, including funding of 6,000 euros or more, access to the start-up community and partner networks, and one-on-one mentoring.
In addition to financial support, the ExciteLab's accelerator program offers free or discounted participation in industry events, providing opportunities for networking and learning from industry experts. The program also includes exciting pilot programs, giving participants the chance to test their ideas in real-world settings.
The ExciteLab is responsible by the Leipzig SpinLab in cooperation with the Technical University of Dresden, and is part of the TUD|excite center of excellence. The program is also supported by institutions such as the transCampus science to business accelerator program, which collaborates with universities like Hebrew University Jerusalem, King's College London, University of Zurich, and ETH Zurich to foster innovation, technology transfer, and startup creation in Dresden and the region.
