Dresden's tech industry expands with the launch of ExciteLab start-up

The ExciteLab, a new space created in Dresden, is set to support high-tech start-ups in the region. This innovative hub, established in collaboration with the Leipzig SpinLab and the Technical University of Dresden (TUD), is part of TUD|excite - the Center of Excellence for Innovation, Transfer, and Entrepreneurship at TU Dresden.

The ExciteLab focuses on key technologies such as IoT, semiconductors, robotics, sensors, and quantum computing. Its goal is to drive the overall competitiveness of the region, bringing science and industry closer together to shorten the development time from idea to market maturity.

Participants in the ExciteLab's accelerator program will benefit from free or reduced access to industry events, one-on-one mentoring, and networking opportunities. The program also offers funding of 6,000 euros or more to participating start-ups, access to resources, and partner networks.

In addition, the ExciteLab aims to increase Dresden's attractiveness for international talents and investors. This is evident in the presence of leading companies like Infineon, TSMC, and Jenoptik in the city, indicative of its rising status in the high-tech industry.

The ExciteLab is also supported by companies such as Mazars and ZEISS, further emphasising its commitment to fostering innovation, technology transfer, and business startups in Dresden and the region.

The ExciteLab's accelerator program, set to start in October 2023, is currently accepting applications until August 27, 2024. The deadline for applications is fast approaching, so start-ups are encouraged to apply soon to take advantage of the various benefits on offer.

The ExciteLab's accelerator program includes exciting pilot programs for participating start-ups, opportunities for industry exposure and event participation, and access to the start-up community.

By promoting the region as a whole and offering numerous opportunities for growth, the ExciteLab is set to play a significant role in the future of high-tech start-ups in Dresden.
