On the evening of August 30, 2025, a 39-year-old man found himself in hot water after disregarding traffic regulations in Bielefeld, Germany. The incident occurred around 11:30 PM on Kesselbrink Street, heading towards Friedrich-Ebert Street.

The man was driving a VW Tiguan on a street restricted for buses and bicycles, disregarding a traffic island and tearing down a traffic sign. A resident of Bielefeld, who was present due to a previous accident involving another car and the traffic sign, alerted the authorities.

Upon arrival, the police officers found the VW Tiguan on Obernstrasse. The vehicle had to be towed away due to the damage caused, with a total property damage estimated at 8,000 euros. The car was leaking oil, indicating possible mechanical issues.

The officers ordered a blood test and a breathalyzer test, which came back positive for alcohol consumption. The driver could not produce a valid driver's license, and the police filed charges for hit-and-run, driving without a license, and driving under the influence.
