Drone collision in Poland is traced back to Russia

In the early hours of the morning, a dramatic event unfolded in a Polish cornfield, near the village of Osiny, around 100 kilometers southeast of Warsaw. The object that crashed was identified as a Russian drone, causing a stir in the region and raising tensions between Poland and Russia.

According to reports, the impact site is approximately 120 kilometers from Poland's border with Ukraine and around 100 kilometers from the border with Belarus. Videos from local portal LukowTV show a bright flash followed by a loud bang, suggesting an explosive impact.

Upon examination, it was found that the drone's motor was manufactured by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), a Chinese state-owned aerospace and defense company. The onboard electronics were also of Chinese origin, and the drone's payload was not a combat warhead. Residents found burned plastic and metal debris at the impact site.

The Polish Defense Minister, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, stated that Russia is provoking NATO countries. He also mentioned that Poland, being one of the main political and military supporters of Ukraine, sees itself as threatened by Russia. In response to the incident, the Foreign Ministry announced that a protest note would be sent to Moscow.

So far, it is believed that the rocket was a Ukrainian air defense missile that went astray. However, the exact circumstances surrounding the crash are still unclear, with questions remaining about whether the explosion occurred in the air or on the ground.

The crash site has been cordoned off, and Polish and army personnel are searching the area. Several houses in the vicinity had windows shattered, but no one was injured. It's a relief that no human casualties were reported in this incident.

This event comes just over a month after a rocket hit the eastern Polish village of Przewodów, killing two men. The incident has once again highlighted the tensions in the region and the potential risks of stray missiles or drones.

As the investigation into the drone crash continues, it is hoped that the truth will be uncovered, and the tensions between Poland and Russia can be addressed in a peaceful and diplomatic manner.
