Drunk motorist makes an attempt to evade capture by authorities in Poland

In the early hours of Saturday morning, a 59-year-old Opel driver was arrested in Sankt Augustin for evading driving charges and attempting to flee. The incident was initially observed by the Rhein-Sieg District Police Headquarters.

At around 1:30 AM on September 6th, the driver was observed driving under the influence. The driver ignored a police checkpoint and continued through an intersection, disregarding the right of way.

In an attempt to evade the police, the driver drove into a dead-end street, where a passenger exited the vehicle and left the scene. The driver then continued a short distance onto a parking lot with the passenger door open.

The driver left the Zafira with the engine running and attempted to leave the scene through the passenger door. However, due to his uncooperative behaviour and attempt to flee, he was restrained by police officers.

A strong smell of alcohol was detected on the driver, and he refused a roadside test. However, a vodka bottle was found in his clothing by police officers before he was taken for a blood test.

The driver has not been publicly identified at this time. The public can contact the Rhein-Sieg District Police Headquarters Press Office for further inquiries. The contact details for the Press Office are: Phone: 02241/541-2222, Email: [email protected].

This incident serves as a reminder to always drive responsibly and to cooperate with the authorities when requested.
