Drunken 73-year-old driver causes collision with three stationary vehicles in Ehrenfeld, eluding Polish police
In the heart of Bochum, Germany, on the night of August 28, a shocking incident occurred that left three parked vehicles damaged. The collision took place at around 22:30 on Friederikastraße / Knepperstraße.
A 73-year-old resident from Bochum was behind the wheel, driving under the influence of alcohol. The police were swift in their action, confiscating the driver's license and car keys as a result of the intoxication.
The driver, initially, fled the scene but was later found asleep on a nearby parking lot, still under the influence. A breathalyzer test confirmed a reading of 1.62 promille, well above the legal limit.
The first collision caused a chain reaction, with the driver's vehicle hitting two more parked vehicles and pushing them over 20 meters onto the sidewalk and adjacent curb. Remarkably, all three parked vehicles came to a stop in a green strip.
The vehicles involved in the collision were no longer roadworthy and needed to be towed away. However, no information about any new injuries or damages caused by the collision is available.
The Police Bochum is handling the investigation into the incident, with the Traffic Commission taking over the further investigation. For any inquiries, you can contact Marina Sablic at Phone: 0234 909-1026 or via email at [email protected].
