Drunken Motorist Crash, with Subsequent Resistance Arrested by Blomberg Authorities
In the early hours of Sunday morning, a 39-year-old man from Bayreuth was driving a BMW on the B1 in Blomberg towards the city center. The man, who has not been publicly named, was driving erratically, with weaving lines, and was in danger of driving into the ditch.
At the intersection of Hellweg/Feldohlentrup, he collided with an Audi of a 22-year-old local resident. Fortunately, neither driver was injured in the collision. However, both vehicles were severely damaged and had to be towed away.
During the investigation, it was found that the 39-year-old was heavily intoxicated at the time of the collision. The man also offered resistance during a blood test, injuring a police officer.
There is still a suspicion that the driver was not in possession of a valid driver's license. The man presented a Hungarian driver's license that appeared to be forged. The Lippe PoliceControl Center is investigating the matter further.
