Dubai Introduces Digital Twin Technology

In a significant move towards a smarter and more sustainable future, the Roads & Transport Authority Dubai (RTA) has announced a new partnership for the project called "Digital Twin Dubai." This groundbreaking initiative, which involves implementing digital twin technology in Dubai, includes Yunex Traffic, local distribution partner Scientechnic, and the RTA.

The primary goal of this project is to improve traffic efficiency, a pressing concern in a city with over three million vehicles during peak hours. To achieve this, the digital twin platform will utilise real-time simulation and data analytics, supporting connected vehicle technologies and accommodating future advancements in autonomous transport.

This digital twin platform will form a key part of Dubai's smart city agenda, aiming to reduce emissions and enable integrated multimodal transport within the city. The platform's implementation at traffic hotspots across Dubai is expected to contribute significantly to the city's investment in simulation-based tools to align mobility with environmental and infrastructure goals.

The achievements and innovations in automation and robotics that will be realised through this project will undoubtedly be recognised at the fourth annual CiTTi Awards. This unmissable event for the UK's transportation sector will be held on 25 November 2025 in London, at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms. For more information about the awards, visit www.cittiawards.co.uk.

With hundreds of millions of annual public transport users in Dubai, the potential impact of this project is immense. The digital twin platform is poised to transform the city's transportation landscape, making it more efficient, sustainable, and smart. As the project unfolds, we can expect to see a significant improvement in traffic flow, reduced emissions, and a more integrated multimodal transport system in Dubai.
