Dubai's parking authority, Parkin, plans to increase its parking capacity by an additional 3,000 spaces before the end of the year.
Dubai's Parkin Expands Portfolio with New Parking Facilities
In a move to ease congestion and improve urban mobility across Dubai, the city's largest public parking operator, Parkin, has reopened a renovated multi-story car park in its Al Rigga district. The new facility boasts 440 parking spaces and will clearly signal its function as a public parking structure.
The expansion of Parkin's portfolio is not limited to this single project. The company aims to add approximately 3,000 new parking spaces by the end of 2025. To achieve this, Parkin plans to build four multi-storey car parks over the next two years.
The growth in Parkin's portfolio was primarily due to the addition of new on-street and developer-linked private zones in the second quarter. Public parking alone saw an increase of 11,700 slots, with Zone C recording the largest jump of 7,800 additional spaces. Zone D, which includes open-lot parking, added 3,800 slots in the same period.
As a result of these expansions, the total number of parking spaces operated by Parkin reached nearly 211,500 by the end of the second quarter. This represents a 6 percent increase from 200,400 a year earlier. Parkin is also set to manage over 29,000 more parking spaces following a tie-up with Dubai Holding.
The new parking facilities will adopt a unified design to reinforce Parkin's identity. Mohamed Abdullah Al Ali, the Chief Executive of Parkin, expressed his excitement about the new developments, stating that these expansions are a testament to Parkin's commitment to providing efficient and accessible parking solutions for the people of Dubai.
In addition to the new parking facilities in Al Rigga, Parkin has also introduced new paid parking areas in Al Jaddaf. The company is set to roll out about 3,000 new parking slots before the close of 2025, further enhancing Dubai's parking infrastructure.
