Baloch National Movement Netherlands Chapter Advocates for Balochistan's Rights

The Baloch National Movement (BNM) Netherlands Chapter has been actively advocating for the rights of Balochistan and raising awareness about the Baloch national struggle over the past year. The chapter has taken various political and diplomatic initiatives to bring international attention to the human rights violations and political issues in Balochistan.

On May 28, a rally and protest demonstration were held outside the Pakistani Embassy in The Hague against nuclear tests in Balochistan. On July 23, a protest was organised in response to the enforced disappearance of Ustad Wahid Kambar and other Baloch detainees. Another protest was staged in front of the International Court of Justice in The Hague on July 31 to denounce the violence against participants of the Baloch Raaji Muchi.

The BNM Netherlands Chapter also organised 10 protest demonstrations over the past year, including one on December 10 to celebrate International Human Rights Day. In addition, the chapter held two seminars and participated in 4 international programs.

Grassroots activism was also a significant part of the BNM Netherlands Chapter's efforts. An awareness campaign in Utrecht against BYC arrests and the ongoing Baloch genocide was organised on April 19. A series of study circles were conducted between September and October 2024 aimed at educating and raising awareness about the Baloch issue.

The chapter also partook in a three-day campaign in Geneva starting March 27 and was involved in the PTM Jirga on March 22. An online series of study circles on "Constitution and Manifesto" was held from November 22 to 27. A campaign to raise awareness and distribute pamphlets was conducted in Utrecht from November 3 to 13 to honour Baloch Martyrs.

Diplomatic engagement was another crucial aspect of the BNM Netherlands Chapter's initiatives. A meeting with Dutch parliamentarians was conducted on February 11 to present a petition. A meeting was conducted with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague on August 14. On June 13, EU representatives in Zutphen received a briefing regarding human rights violations in Balochistan.

The BNM Netherlands Chapter's activities demonstrate their sustained efforts to bring international attention to human rights violations and political issues concerning Balochistan through both grassroots activism and diplomatic engagement. The annual performance report of the BNM Netherlands Chapter highlighted their political and diplomatic initiatives on a global scale to increase awareness about the Baloch national struggle. The chapter reaffirmed its commitment to continuing these efforts in the coming years to further highlight the Baloch cause at the international level.
