Dwayne Johnson Takes on Role of 'Chicken Man' in Upcoming Film 'Lizard Music'
In an exciting turn of events, Hollywood heavyweight Dwayne Johnson and director Benny Safdie are reuniting for a new project titled "Lizard Music." The film, a departure from their previous brutal, violent UFC drama genre, is based on the popular 1976 book by Daniel Pinkwater.
Johnson will take on the role of the Chicken Man, a character who encounters a young boy named Victor in the city of Hogboro. The Chicken Man is no ordinary bird; he's accompanied by an intelligent hen named Claudia, and together they embark on a journey to investigate mysterious goings-on involving music played by lizards on TV.
Victor, who has a fondness for pizza with anchovies, grape soda, B movies aired at midnight, and the evening news, finds himself drawn into this bizarre world when he encounters the Chicken Man. His older sister is shirking her babysitting duties, and his parents are away at a resort, leaving him alone to face the strange events unfolding in his home city.
The lizard musicians in "Lizard Music" are real lizards, not men in lizard suits. They reside on a floating island, a strange and fantastic place that operates with an inspired logic of its own. As Victor and the Chicken Man, guided by Claudia, journey to this island, they uncover a world unlike anything they've ever imagined.
While the production company or distributor for "Lizard Music" has yet to be announced, the collaboration between Johnson and Safdie is seen as a more bankable idea due to Johnson's fame and the awards buzz surrounding "The Smashing Machine," another project the duo is set to release.
