In a closely contested match at the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion, FC Schalke 04 secured a 0:1 victory over Dynamo Dresden. The game was attended by 31,707 spectators, who witnessed an intense battle between the two teams.

The first half of the match saw several chances for both sides, with Schalke's keeper Karius denying Daferner's goal attempt in the 2nd minute, and Karaman missing a goal opportunity from outside the penalty area in the 39th minute. Vitalie Becker's long-range shot was saved by Schreiber in the 28th minute, while Daferner failed to score from three meters against Karius in the 36th minute.

In the second half, there were several substitutions on both sides. Christopher Antwi-Adjei entered the game for Schalke, while Stefan Kutschke and Dominik Kother were brought on by Dynamo. Julian Pauli, a new signing for Dynamo, was loaned out to gain playing time, replacing no specific player.

The turning point of the match came in the 84th minute when Amoako fouled Schalke captain Karaman in the penalty area, resulting in a penalty kick. Karaman converted the penalty kick to score the winning goal for Schalke.

Despite the loss, Dynamo Dresden's captain, Stefan Kutschke, expressed optimism about the team's performance. "We fought hard, and there were several chances for us to score, but unfortunately, we couldn't convert them," he said.

The defeat saw Dynamo Dresden drop to 13th place in the league, while Schalke 04 climbed to second place. It's worth noting that Dynamo Dresden have not yet secured their first home win this season.

In a surprising twist, Jonas Oehmichen was brought on as a substitute for the injured Nils Fröling during the game. The match ended with a 0:1 loss for Dynamo, leaving them searching for their first home win of the season.
