Eastman fully resuming operation under Bowen's management
In the heart of the village, at 409 Principal Street, Eastman, a new chapter begins for Bowen Café. Johanne Depelteau, the visionary behind the café, has transformed the business into a large retail company, featuring a kitchen, bar, and specialty store with local products.
The café on the ground floor continues to serve cappuccinos, matcha lattes, sweet desserts, and substantial meals. However, the highlight of the new Bowen Café is undoubtedly the kitchen, a significant addition to the café's facilities.
This expansive kitchen broadens the culinary options, catering to the diverse dishes on the menu. From the popular gravlax focaccia and melt-in-your-mouth tuna sandwich to an array of ready-to-cook meals, the kitchen offers a wide variety of options for both dine-in and takeout.
For takeout, patrons can choose from sandwiches, salads, and dishes like ratatouille, chimichurri shrimp to grill, and piri-piri chicken accompanied by gratin dauphinois. The grocery store offers prized or local products, such as cheeses and vegetables, and a wide selection of frozen meals and ready-to-eat meals made on site.
The bar, set to open soon, will feature a wood-burning fireplace and an enviable menu. Johanne Depelteau has promised to open oysters at the bar, adding an extra touch of elegance to the dining experience.
The new location is a bright new building, easily accessible at exit 106 of the Eastern Townships Autoroute. The new Bowen Café is managed by Johanne Depelteau and her daughter Laura Poirier, with a team of some 25 employees.
