Effortless accomplishment experienced by Game of Thrones actor Hafthor Bjornsson as he breaks the deadlift world record

In an electrifying display of strength, Icelandic strongman and Game of Thrones star Hafthor Bjornsson has broken the deadlift world record yet again. The 36-year-old, standing at 6ft 9in tall and weighing 31.4 stone, made the record-breaking lift of 510kg at the Mutant World Deadlift Championship held at the Utilita Arena.

The packed crowd erupted in cheers as Bjornsson, also known as Thor, successfully completed the lift. His team celebrated the momentous occasion, sharing in the excitement of the record-breaking feat.

Bjornsson, who is not just known for his acting prowess as The Mountain in the fantasy drama series, has been making waves in the deadlifting circuit. He previously set a deadlift record of 501kg in 2020 and lifted 505kg in July this year.

Following the successful lift, Bjornsson expressed his belief that he could have lifted 530kg. He wrote in an Instagram post that he believes there was more in the tank for his impressive lift.

The current world record holder in the deadlift is none other than Bjornsson himself, having lifted 510 kilograms at the World Deadlift Championship 2025. The lift, he stated, felt easy.

The news of Bjornsson's record lift has left fans in awe. One fan commented that they couldn't believe a human could make such weight fly, while another called Bjornsson the strongest man to ever live. A third fan believed there was more in the tank for Bjornsson's lift, with a fourth fan saying only The Mountain can call a 510kg deadlift easy.

Eddie Hall, who was defeated by Bjornsson in a boxing match in 2022, previously set a deadlift record of 500kg in 2016.

After the record-breaking lift, Bjornsson shared a video of the moment on his Instagram account for his 4.4 million followers. The video captures the electrifying atmosphere of the arena and the sheer power of Bjornsson's lift.

With this record-breaking lift, Bjornsson has once again proven his dominance in the deadlifting circuit and solidified his status as one of the strongest men in the world.
