Elderly Driver Involved in Road Mishap, Sustains Minor Wounds
In Hamm, a car accident took place on Sunday, August 24, at around 7:20 PM, according to a statement from the Police Headquarters Hamm. The incident occurred at the junction of Braamer Straße and Baumstraße.
The northbound vehicle on Braamer Straße was driven by a 60-year-old man, who hails from Hamm. He was slightly injured in the collision. The 81-year-old driver, also a local resident, was turning left from Baumstraße onto Braamer Straße and was responsible for the accident. The elderly driver was not reported to have sustained any injuries.
Both drivers were immediately taken to a hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the impact of the collision left both Volkswagen vehicles no longer roadworthy. They were subsequently towed away from the scene.
The Police Headquarters Hamm did not provide any details regarding the extent of the injuries or the vehicles involved beyond what has been stated. The estimated damage from the collision is approximately 9,000 euros.
