Elderly female resident in apartment complex experiencing brutal assault and restraint
In a shocking incident that took place on Monday, an 85-year-old resident of Straße Am Staatsforst was the victim of a burglary attempt. The elderly woman sustained minor injuries, specifically ligature marks, during the ordeal.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 12:30 PM when a man, who appeared to be a handyman, visited the residence. A second man joined the handyman inside the home. The man was approximately 20 to 30 years old, had a round face, was heavyset, and stood about 1.70 meters tall. He had a three-day beard and spoke fluent German. One of his arms was tattooed flat up to the wrist.
The second man grabbed the elderly woman, bound her, and taped her mouth shut with duct tape. The criminals attempted to open the safe using a cutting tool, but their efforts were thwarted when the woman's phone rang. The criminals fled the residence shortly thereafter.
The woman was able to free herself after the criminals left. No further information was provided about the stolen items or the identity of the criminals. The police are urgently seeking witnesses who may have noticed something suspicious between 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM on Monday and/or in the days leading up to the incident.
The police have asked anyone with information to come forward and contact the police unit KK 13. The woman could only describe one of the men, as the other was wearing dark clothing. The police are hoping that more information will come to light that will help them identify and apprehend the criminals responsible for this disturbing incident.
