Elderly Gentlemen's Cultural Event: Speed Dating for Those Over 60
In an exciting development aimed at promoting social interactions among seniors, the city of Bergisch Gladbach is hosting two "Speed Dating 60+" events as part of the cultural weeks for seniors. These events, organised in cooperation with PRO Treff community center in Bensberg and DRK Refrather Treff, are set to take place on September 3 and 10.
The first event, scheduled for September 3 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at PRO Treff community center, Schloßstraße 84, Bensberg, has already seen a high demand, with all places for ladies being fully booked. However, a waiting list has been established for sympathetic ladies who wish to participate. For gentlemen, registration is still open.
The format of these events is straightforward: participants will have eight minutes to get to know each other before switching. Each event offers the opportunity to have seven conversations with new people. It's important to note that only if both conversation partners agree will their data be passed on.

After the event, the employees of the department of aging will evaluate who wants to get to know each other better. The department, which has been renamed as the Senior Office, is encouraging men to participate in these events.
The second event will take place on September 10, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at DRK Refrather Treff, Steinbrecher Weg 2, Refrath. Registration for these events has been running for over two weeks.
The organisers of these Speed Dating events for people over 60 during the senior culture weeks in Bergisch Gladbach are the Fachstelle Älterwerden der Stadt Bergisch Gladbach (formerly the Seniorenbüro) and PRO Treff im PROgymnasium Bensberg e.V.
