Elderly Man Robbed and Assaulted in Schöneberg, Berlin
An 84-year-old man was the victim of a violent robbery in Schöneberg, Berlin, yesterday afternoon. The incident occurred around 3:35 PM at an apartment building on Kleiststraße.
According to reports, the senior and his wife were in an elevator when a suspect entered and snatched a chain from the senior's neck. When the senior tried to hold onto the chain, the suspect is said to have struck him on the head and body before fleeing the scene.
The senior was shaken by the incident and suffered bruises and skin abrasions on his upper body. Emergency services were alerted and took him to a hospital for further treatment. His wife, who came to his aid during the incident, also fell to the ground.
No further information about the suspect's identity or description has been released. The investigation into the robbery has been taken over by a specialized commission for robbery crimes of the police directorate 4 (South).
