Elderly Man Robbed and Assaulted in Schöneberg
Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 3:35 PM, an 84-year-old man was the victim of a robbery and assault in an apartment building elevator on Kleiststraße, Schöneberg.
The incident began when a previously unknown suspect entered the elevator with the victim and his 80-year-old wife. The suspect, who has yet to be identified by the police, snatched a chain from the 84-year-old's neck and fled the elevator.
During the robbery, the suspect struck the senior on the head, causing him to fall to the ground. The suspect then continued to kick the senior in the head and body before fleeing the scene.
The 84-year-old was taken to a hospital for further treatment due to bruises and skin abrasions on his upper body. His wife, who was present during the incident, did not require immediate medical attention.
The senior's condition is currently stable, but he was shaken by the incident. The robbery has been taken over by a specialized unit for robbery crimes of the Police Directorate 4 (South), who are actively investigating the case.
