Elderly woman, reported missing, discovered deceased near the Elbe river
In Geesthacht, District of Herzogtum Lauenburg, on August 26, 2025, a tragic incident unfolded. An 86-year-old woman from the same town was reported missing to the police by a relative in the morning.
Initial search efforts proved unsuccessful, but around 11:45 AM, a passerby made a discovery near Werfstraße on the Elbe water. The lifeless body of a woman was found in the water.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and successfully rescued the individual. The discovery was later confirmed to be the same person reported missing earlier in the day.
