Electric Excavator SY215E From Sany Undergoes Trial Run, Weighs 23 Tonnes
In the world of construction, the push towards sustainability is gaining momentum, and Sany, a leading name in the industry, is at the forefront of this movement. The company's electric construction machines are making waves, as demonstrated by the successful test deployment organised by Multi Handling and conducted by KIBAG.
The Sany SY215E, equipped with modern lithium iron phosphate batteries, was put to the test under real conditions in excavation, classic earthworks, and recycling areas. Operator Roger Britt of KIBAG was particularly enthusiastic about the machine, praising its control, quietness, and lack of noise and smell.
Sany's electric machines are not only environmentally friendly but also economically viable. With lower running costs that amortize themselves in a short time, these machines offer significant cost savings in the long run. Despite initial skepticism about the machines' ability to last a whole workday and deliver required performance, Sany's electric machines have proven to be up to the task.
Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) and Sany are not alone in this electrification trend. Both companies have developed a broad range of electrified construction equipment, including telescopic handlers, harbor cranes, mobile cranes, rollers, mini excavators, trucks, and heavy excavators with electric drives. Sany's range includes telescopic handlers, harbor cranes, reach stackers, rollers, mini excavators, wheel loaders, and heavy tracked excavators.
The aim of the test deployment was to reduce diesel consumption, CO2 footprint, and operate emission-free by 2050. Theo van Horck, Putzmeister Regional Sales Manager for Switzerland, reports that there are skepticisms about electric machines on construction sites. However, the success of the test deployment is helping to dispel these doubts.
Sany is participating in the NordBau in Neumünster, where interested parties can find the company at the North outdoor area at booth N142. Beyond machine construction, Sany also develops and manufactures wind turbines and solar panels under the business division "Sany Renewable Energies".
The electric machines boast a low maintenance and service requirement, reducing operating costs and downtime. This, combined with their eco-friendly nature and cost-effectiveness, makes Sany's electric construction machines an attractive choice for the future of the industry.
