Electric Mahindra BE 6 sports a Batman theme: Mission goes battery-powered
Mahindra Launches Limited-Edition Batman-Inspired SUV
Mahindra, the Indian automaker, has unveiled a special edition of its BE 6 SUV, dubbed the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition. This unique vehicle, priced at approximately ₹27.79 lakh ($54,300), is aimed at the most devoted Gotham faithful and is limited to just 300 units.
The Batman Edition is based on the range-topping BE 6 variant and is the world's first commercially available Batman-inspired SUV. It boasts a host of distinctive features that pay homage to the Dark Knight.
Externally, the Batman Edition sports satin black paint, gloss highlights, golden bat emblems, and additional Gotham-themed decals and stickers. The panoramic Infinity Roof features an illuminated Dark Knight Trilogy insignia, while puddle lamps project the bat emblem onto the ground.
In collaboration with Warner Bros Discovery, Mahindra has programmed a "Batman-inspired" exterior sound profile for the Batman Edition, adding to the overall Batman experience. The digital cockpit's welcome screen also displays the bat emblem.
Each Batman Edition features a numbered "Brushed Alchemy Gold Batman Edition" plaque, signifying its exclusivity. Inside, the SUV boasts black suede and leather upholstery, gold trim, and bat silhouettes etched into various parts of the interior.
Under the hood, the Batman Edition produces 210kW and 380Nm from a single rear-mounted motor. The vehicle's 79kWh battery is good for 550km on the WLTP cycle.
Pratap Bose, Mahindra's Chief Design and Creative Officer, described the project as creating something personal and visually arresting. Deliveries of the Batman Edition will start on September 20, coinciding with International Batman Day.
The Batman Edition is priced only a bit more than the standard BE 6, making it an attractive option for fans looking to showcase their love for the Caped Crusader. This Mahindra SUV wears its fandom on its sleeve, making it a standout vehicle on the road.
