Elevator Device Used for Rescuing Individual from Fourth Level
In the heart of Elberfeld, a dramatic scene unfolded on Reiterbahnstraße around midday yesterday. Emergency services were called to the scene following reports of an individual in distress on the fourth floor of a building.
Upon arrival, a high-angle rescuer was hoisted up to the fourth floor using a rope system and a basket stretcher. The individual was then carefully moved out of the apartment window and lowered down to the ground after a brief stop at a dormer window.
Due to the location of the individual, moving them down via the staircase was not feasible. To facilitate the rescue operation, a crane was set up on the adjacent Reiterbahnstraße. The supports for the crane were positioned on wooden blocks to keep it level.
The operation, which required the assistance of the high-angle rescue team and part of the technical rescue unit, was concluded around 3:45 pm. During the operation, the Elberfelder Reiterbahnstraße was closed off, causing temporary traffic disruptions on the Hochstraße. Traffic was rerouted on the Elberfelder Reiterbahnstraße.
Pictures were taken during the rescue operation, but no further information on the individual's health status is available. The individual was taken into custody by the crew of an ambulance and transported to a hospital for further care.
