Senator Elisha Abbo Seeks Divine Guidance Ahead of Political Move

Nigerian Senator Elisha Abbo has announced that he is seeking divine guidance before making his next political move. The former Adamawa North senator, who was sacked by the Court of Appeal in October 2023, is currently a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Abbo was first elected to the Senate in 2019 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but he defected to the APC the following year, a move he admits was made out of human judgment and without seeking spiritual guidance. However, this time around, Abbo is taking a different approach.

For the past 31 days, Abbo has been fasting and praying, seeking God's will in deciding his next political move. He has stated that he is no longer making decisions based on sight, sweet words, emotions, or instincts, but rather on the spirit of God and calm, spirited negotiations.

Abbo has not publicly announced a specific date for his official exit from the APC, but he has promised that an official statement will be issued in a few weeks, after consulting with his people and seeking divine guidance. The senator has also confirmed that his political move is motivated by tangible reasons and raw instincts.

In a statement, Abbo said, "I left the PDP for the APC without praying and asking God's direction on which party to join. This time, I am seeking God's will before making my next move."

The official statement regarding Abbo's political move will be issued by Abbo himself, according to his office.

It should be noted that Abbo was re-elected as a senator in 2023, but his seat was later sacked by the Court of Appeal in October, with Amos Yohanna, candidate of the PDP, declared as the winner of the Adamawa North senatorial election.

Abbo's political future remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: the senator is taking his time to seek God's guidance before making his next move. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
