Embezzled Vehicles from Emergency Spritz Tour in Dusseldorf's Pempelfort District: A Duo Pilfers Emergency Vehicles
In an unprecedented incident, a heavily intoxicated couple stole an ambulance in Düsseldorf over the weekend while paramedics were attending to a medical emergency.
On Sunday, 9th February, at around 5:13 AM, an ambulance crew was called to a medical emergency at an apartment building. The ambulance, with its engine running, was parked in front of the building when the incident occurred.
The paramedic, who was inside the ambulance, had stepped out to fetch medication. Upon returning, he found the ambulance missing. Investigations reveal that the ambulance was stolen by a 27-year-old woman from Düsseldorf and her 19-year-old male companion.
The stolen ambulance started reversing towards the paramedic, causing alarm and delaying the ambulance crew's ability to attend to the patient. The whereabouts of the intoxicated couple after the theft are unclear.
The police were alerted, and the paramedic managed to call them. Upon locating the stolen ambulance, approximately 100 meters away on Schirmer Street, the police apprehended the duo.
Upon arrival at the police station, the woman resisted and had to be taken in for identification and blood sample collection. The man, on the other hand, was released after his personal details were recorded and his phone was seized. After the police procedures were completed, the woman was also released.
Investigations regarding the incident are ongoing, and it is being treated as a theft of a service vehicle. As a result of the incident, both the woman and man are expected to face charges. The name of the woman who stole the ambulance is not currently available in the search results.
It is worth noting that the condition of the patient or any injuries sustained during the theft have not been disclosed. The ambulance service has not released any statements regarding the impact of the incident on their operations.
