Emergency services employee lodges a criminal complaint against a 39-year-old individual for hurling abusive language and issuing threats
On August 18, 2025, an incident occurred at Halle (Saale) Central Station that disrupted train services and raised concerns for emergency services. At around 19:27, smoke was reported in the roof area of a S-Bahn train.
The emergency manager and the fire brigade were promptly alerted to the situation. The Federal Police Inspectorate Magdeburg took charge of handling the incident, securing the scene and closing tracks 2/3.
Officers of the Federal Police worked to evacuate the relevant S-Bahn train, which was later towed to a workshop for further investigation. Two other trains were partially cancelled as a result of the incident, causing a total delay of eight minutes for these services.
During the incident, a 39-year-old man is reported to have insulted and threatened emergency services. The man allegedly attempted to put his child into a fire engine, adding an extra layer of tension to the situation.
The man is currently under investigation for insult and threat, and there is no publicly available information about any person who attacked emergency personnel during the incident.
