Emergency services faced verbal abuse and threats from a 39-year-old individual, triggering a criminal complaint by BPOLI MD.

On Monday, August 18, 2025, an incident occurred at Halle (Saale) Central Station that disrupted train services and involved a 39-year-old man who allegedly insulted and threatened emergency services.

According to the Federal Police Inspectorate Magdeburg, smoke was reported in the roof area of a S-Bahn train at around 19:27. The relevant train was evacuated, and the S-Bahn was taken out of service and towed to the workshop for further investigation. Officers of the Federal Police secured the scene, and tracks 2/3 were closed.

The incident was handled by the Federal Police Inspectorate Magdeburg, who transmitted the information via news aktuell. The emergency manager and the fire brigade were alerted, and two trains were delayed by a total of eight minutes due to the incident. Two other trains were partially cancelled.

During the incident, a man, a father of a family, attempted to put his child into a fire engine. However, the man was issued a criminal complaint for his actions.
