Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi, a 16-year-old tennis prodigy born in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on 12 June 2009, has been turning heads in the world of tennis with her impressive performances.

Barely a year into her professional career, which began in 2025, Revathi has already made a name for herself. Her resilience under pressure and hunger to improve set her apart from many juniors her age.

Revathi's debut at the US Open in August 2025 marked her first junior Grand Slam tournament participation. She kicked off her campaign with a straight sets victory against China's Zhang Qian-Wei. However, her journey came to an end in the second round, where she faced Hannah Klugman, the No. 2 seed.

The match against Klugman was a two-hour battle that showcased Revathi's potential to stand toe-to-toe with the world's top junior players. Despite losing the match, Revathi took the first set in a tiebreaker, a testament to her poise and powerful groundstrokes.
