In the midst of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, Bluevine, a fintech company headquartered in Jersey City, New Jersey, has taken steps to support its employees in Israel. The company has closed its office in Tel Aviv and is encouraging employees to work remotely and remain at home.

Bluevine is providing its Israeli employees with mindfulness tools, articles, and activities to help manage stress and anxiety stemming from the conflict. The company is also maintaining close communication with its employees, offering additional support for those on reserve duty and their families who have been impacted by the attack.

The conflict has resulted in more than 1,300 deaths and has imposed a blockade that cuts off power and food supplies to the Hamas-controlled region. In response, Bluevine is supporting donations and volunteerism and has added extra paid volunteer days to its annual standard allotment.

Other financial service companies in Israel where employees could potentially be affected by the crisis include various Israeli fintech startups and financial institutions involved in capital markets and digital banking. Among them is lemon.markets, a BaFin-licensed company that serves banks, fintechs, and asset managers.

JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, and other U.S. financial firms have directed their employees in Israel to work from home due to the ongoing conflict. Citi, another major financial institution, is giving its Israel-based employees the option to work from home or the office.

The airstrikes have been intense, with Israel retaliating with over 1,000 airstrikes on the Gaza Strip. More than 20 Bluevine employees have been called to reserve duty, with more expected to join in the days and weeks to come.

Hamas militants launched an attack on Israel on Saturday, which led to the escalation of violence. In response, Israel has imposed strict restrictions on the movement of people and goods in and out of the Gaza Strip.

The benefits provider for Bluevine in Israel has initiated a dedicated emergency service line to support employees. The company is committed to prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of its employees during this difficult time.
