Engineering firm Egis participates in the UNESCO World Engineering Day 2025 initiative
The UNESCO World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development (WED) 2025 was officially launched at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on 4 March 2025. This international celebration, jointly operated by UNESCO and the World Federation for Engineering Organizations (WFEO), is focused on the role of engineering in achieving the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Egis Group, a leading provider of solutions in intelligent infrastructure, has been selected as an official partner for WED 2025. As such, their insights and expertise will form an integral part of the 12-month campaign. Jacques de Mereuil, Executive Director of the WFEO, expressed his excitement about Egis Group's involvement in the launch of the WED campaign at UNESCO's global headquarters in Paris.
The theme of WED 2025 is "Shaping our sustainable future through engineering". Mustafa Shehu, President of the WFEO, emphasized the importance of WED in putting engineering in the global spotlight, showcasing how engineers are leading the way in meeting the UN's Sustainable Development Goal targets, and inspiring the next generation.
Martine Jauroyon, Chief Sustainability and Engagement Officer of Egis Group, emphasized the role of the company in contributing to a world where human well-being and environmental balance are in harmony. Egis Group's scientific and technical expertise, along with creativity, will be utilized to deliver 'future ready' solutions that are more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive.
The WED 2025 launch, campaign, and related content will go live from 4 March 2025 at www.worldengineeringday.net. The WED campaign is a year-long series of events, films, articles, and news. All campaign content, including a multimedia hub dedicated to Egis Group, is hosted on the WED website.
