In Kamchatka Krai, a significant roundtable discussion took place at the SEMYA Center for Social Assistance to Families and Children. The event brought together representatives from various organisations, including guardianship and trusteeship bodies, social service specialists, preschool institutions, and non-governmental organisations focused on child welfare.

The main objective of the gathering was to discuss a comprehensive approach to preventing social orphanhood and protecting children from violence. Olga Denisyuk, Director of the SEMYA Center, emphasised the importance of the stationary department for minors, which is dedicated to ensuring the rehabilitation and social adaptation of its wards.

Eleonora Ankudinova, Head of the Department of Guardianship and Trusteeship, highlighted the necessity of working with families in difficult life situations and promptly identifying and addressing cases of child abuse. Specialists were also updated on the protocol for action when cases of violence against minors are discovered.

The roundtable discussion also marked the beginning of initiatives aimed at improving inter-agency cooperation regarding the prevention of rights violations for minors in Kamchatka Krai. This collaboration will involve the regional government, child protection agencies, social services, law enforcement, educational institutions, and more.
