Enhanced Mobile Connectivity: Telekom Upgrades Communications in Mansfeld-Südharz County

In the picturesque Mansfeld-South Harz district, Deutsche Telekom AG has recently expanded its mobile network, aiming to enhance connectivity and provide faster mobile coverage to a larger number of households.

Currently, Telekom operates 86 mobile network sites in the district, and the expansion has increased the number of households with fast mobile coverage to an impressive 99%. This growth is a testament to Telekom's commitment to improving communication services in the region.

The expansion has also brought several new features to the district's mobile network. Advanced Mobile Location (AML) emergency call technology is now supported, which automatically transmits the caller's location to the emergency control center during calls to 112. This technology is expected to significantly improve emergency response times.

Moreover, the Cell Broadcast warning system, which sends danger alerts to mobile phones in the affected cell during emergencies, is also supported by Telekom's mobile network sites in the district. This feature ensures that residents are kept informed during critical situations.

Deutsche Funkturm, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, is responsible for building the mobile network sites. Seven more sites are planned to be added in the next three years, along with the expansion of 18 sites with LTE or 5G technology. However, no information has been provided about the cost or timeline of the expansion.

Georg von Wagner, spokesperson for Deutsche Telekom, stated that bandwidth demand is increasing by around 30% per year. To keep up with this growing demand, the expansion of the mobile network is crucial.

Modernized mobile antennas have been installed in Berga, and better coverage along the Thuringia-West railway line has been achieved with the expansion. As a result, mobile internet coverage in the Mansfeld-South Harz district has increased to 91%.

Interested parties can offer a site for a roof or mast location by contacting Deutsche Funkturm at www.dfmg.de/standortangebot. For more information on mobile network availability in the district, visit www.telekom.de/netzausbau.

Telekom has been recognised as having the best mobile network in Germany, as confirmed by recent wins in several specialist magazines. This expansion in the Mansfeld-South Harz district is yet another step towards maintaining this reputation.

With these improvements, residents of the Mansfeld-South Harz district can look forward to a more connected future, with faster and more reliable mobile services. Emergency calls and warnings are now possible at all sites in the district, ensuring a safer environment for all.
